HALAL FOOD
It is a simple subject. Go topic by topic as outlined below.
A. FISH / CREATURES IN WATER
Does Quran say anything about dead or Alive. Then why do you make up things?
Quran says -
1. ṭariyy (طَرِيّ) - Fresh / Tender
2. laḥm (لَحْم) - Meat
Now read -
[16:14] And it is Him who subjected the sea so that you would eat TENDER MEAT from it and extract from it jewellery that you wear. You see the ships cleaving through it so that you can seek His Bounty and so that you may give thanks.
[35:12] The two seas are not the same: this one is sweet, refreshing and pleasant to drink, while that one is salty and bitter. FROM BOTH, you EAT TENDER MEAT and extract jewellery to wear. And you see the ships sailing through them, that you may seek of His bounty, and so hopefully you may give thanks.
Is there any confusion here? No mention of Dead or Alive. Tariyy - Fresh (not Rotten - even if it is dead)
B. ANIMALS
[2:173] He only prohibited for you carrion, blood, the flesh of the pig and what was dedicated to other than God. But if one is forced out of necessity rather than desire or greed, then he incurs no sin. God is Forgiver, Merciful.
[5:3] Prohibited for you are the carrion, blood, the flesh of the pig and what has been dedicated to other than God. Also, that which has been strangled, struck with an object, fallen from height, gored, eaten by a wild animal, except what you manage to render lawful before it dies, and also what is slaughtered on altars. Also prohibited is what you divide through arrows of chance; this is vileness. Today, the disbelievers have given up on your religion so do not fear them and fear Me. Today, I have completed your religion for you, perfected My blessing upon you and approved Submission as the religion for you. If one is forced through severe hunger, and without being deliberately sinful, then God is Forgiver, Merciful.
[16:115] He only prohibited for you the carrion, blood, the flesh of the pig and what was dedicated to other than God, but if one is forced out of necessity rather than desire or greed, then God is Forgiver, Merciful.
[6:145] Say, "I do not find in what has been inspired to me any food that is prohibited for any eater to eat except if it is carrion, or running blood, or the flesh of pigs for it is unclean, or any vileness that is dedicated to other than God." But if one is forced out of necessity rather than desire or greed, then your Lord is Forgiver, Merciful.
C. GOOD
[2:168] O people, eat from what is in the earth that is lawful and good, and do not follow the footsteps of the devil. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
[2:172] O you who believe, eat from the good things We have provided for you, and give thanks to God if it is Him that you worship.
[5:88] And eat from what God has provided for you which is lawful and good, and reverence God, the One in whom you are believers.
Do you now understand why we do not eat poisonous Plants, Animals, Creatures, Rotten, Expired? Or why we eat Fruits, Vegetables, Birds, Eggs...?
D. FOODS OF PEOPLE OF THE BOOK.
[5:5] Today, all good things have been made lawful for you. The food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. Also, lawful for you are the chaste women among the believers, as well as the chaste women among those who were given the Scripture before you, provided you pay them their due dowries. You shall maintain chastity; not committing illicit sex, nor taking secret lovers. Whoever rejects the faith, his work will be nullified and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.
The verse says - even though Jews / Christians takes Trinity or Ezra (9.30) but the animals they prepare as food are not to be considered as Dedicated to OTHERS.
** be mindful 2nd part of the verse is different. Men / women has to be BELIEVERS. Trinitarians are not Believers.
E. DURING HAJJ
[5:1] O you who believe, you shall honour the contracts. Livestock animals have been made lawful to you, except what is recited to you. You are not permitted hunting while you are hurum. God decrees what He wills.
[5:95] O you who believe, do not kill any game while you are hurum. Whoever of you kills it deliberately, the penalty for it shall be the equivalent in livestock animals to what he killed. The assessment is to be arbitrated by two equitable people among you and to be set as an offering to reach the Kaaba. Alternatively, the atonement shall be by feeding the needy, or its equivalent in fasting, in order to taste the consequence of his action. God has pardoned what happened in the past, but God will avenge anyone who re-offends. God is Dignified, Avenger.
[22:30] In addition to that, and whoever honours the prohibitions set by God, it is indeed better for him in the sight of his Lord. The livestock has been made lawful for you, except for what is recited to you. So stay away from the contamination of idols, and stay away from uttering lies.
F. HALAL (Non Haram does not mean Halal)
[6:118] So eat from that upon which God's name has been mentioned, if you believe in His revelations.
[6:119] And what is the matter with you that you should not eat from that upon which God's name has been mentioned, when He has detailed for you what is prohibited for you, with the exception of that to which you are compelled? Many do mislead through their personal desires and without knowledge. Your Lord knows best the transgressors.
[6:121] Do not eat from that upon which God's name has not been mentioned, for it is vileness. The devils inspire their allies to argue with you, If you obey them, you would indeed be mushrikoon.
Are you clear how non-haram foods become Halal?
Be mindful to mention name of Allah (Bismillah) when you feed your Infants / Children or Sick.
G. IF YOU EAT HARAM FOOD UNKNOWINGLY
[5:93] There is no blame on those who believe and do good deeds for what they may have fed on if they are reverent, believe and do good deeds, then continue to be reverent and believe, and yet again were reverent and do good. God loves the good-doers.
H. PROHIBITION ON MAKING UNLAWFUL AS LAWFUL and LAWFUL AS UNLAWFUL BEYOND ABOVE
[5:87] O you who believe, do not prohibit the good things which God has made lawful for you, and do not aggress. God does not like the aggressors.
[5:88] And eat from what God has provided for you which is lawful and good, and reverence God, the One in whom you are believers.
[10:59] Say, "Have you seen what God has brought down to you of provisions, of which you have made some unlawful and some lawful?" Say, "Did God give you permission, or are you fabricating lies against God?"
[16:35] And those who committed shirk said, "Had God willed, we would not have worshipped anything besides Him, neither we nor our fathers, nor would we have prohibited anything which He did not." Those before them did likewise! Ultimately, are the messengers commissioned with other than the clear delivery?
[16:116] Do not utter lies that are portrayed by your tongues: "This is lawful and that is unlawful," to fabricate lies and attribute them to God. Those who fabricate lies and attribute them to God will not succeed.
